Also pay attention to rules 6.16, 7.9, 7.13 and 34.5(c). Rules 35 - 36 must be studied in depth by regions.

Selection Criteria for Rio 2016
There is a selection criteria for Para Athletics on the website of SASCOC.
SASAPD made use of the following criteria for selection:
Selection Criteria:
1 | Performance on Rio 2016 Paralympic Games - AQS equals allocation ranking list |
| a) needs to be internationally classified |
| b) Needs to be internationally licensed |
| c) All performances from 15 Oct 2014 - 20 Jun 2016 are considered |
2 | Look at General trend for individuals over time (2015-2016) |
3 | Look at medal potential by looking at the results of WC 2015 and London 2012 |
| SA Timeline - Recommendation - All results 15 Oct 2014 - 15 Jun 2016 to consider |
| Rankings as of the 20th of June 2016 |
